326 Sgt A. A. Foley reported that
Eather was killed by a shell, fired at Headquarters from the Goeben
on 8 May. Another report notes that a part of a trench fell in
as a result of the firing from the Goeben, killing the men in it.
Eather died of gunshot wounds to the head, on the transport Lutzow,
between Gallipoli and Alexandria. Sources:
