General |
"Kidson was in the Anzac
landing. A party had to advance seven or eight hundred yards to
act as a shield to the main body. Kidson was with this
party and fell during the charge. Witness saw Kidson
kneeling with his head on the ground. He lay very quiet. The
party had to retire after an hour or so. Many bodies were lying on
the ground retired over. Machine guns played across these bodies.
Kidson must have been dead when witness saw him, and his body
would be riddled with machine gun bullets. Kidson lived in
S. Perth. He had an impediment in his speech. His father is
a parliament official in W. Australia."
