General

"Marjason was a friend of witness and came from Hurstville, near Illawarra line, New South Wales.  Marjason was killed  on 27/8/15 at Hill 60 by a shell, possibly whilst he lay wounded.  He had been seen to stumble as if wounded in the leg by L/C Maxwell.

Marjason's papers were brought in by a sergeant of the Norfolk Regt. who had crawling out at night and he sent them to us.

Witness crawled out and got in Marjason's body and buried it in the Military cemetery and put up a cross about 3 ft. high with his name o it.  There was no chaplain. (Witness has written to Marjason's people and told them the particulars and he is also sending them a photo of the grave which he showed me and it brings out Marjason's name quite clearly.)
