General According to the newspaper reports, on 25 April 1915 Henry, and one other, carried Lieutenant Champion to safety, after he had been injured, "under a hail of lead a distance of 600 or 700 yards".  He avowed "that I am alive today is due in very large measure to your son's gallantry."  They then returned to the firing line.  Lieutenant Champion stated his intention to recommend them both for the Victoria Cross.

On 5 June 1915 Henry was sent out as part of a party intending to put a Turkish machine gun out of action.  The raid was successful, but Henry received a serious gunshot wound to the chest.  He was taken to the 4th Field Ambulance and then onto the hospital ship Sicilia.  It was there that he died, somewhere between Gallipoli and Malta.  He was buried at sea.
